Officer, previously acquitted of shooting a teen, arrested for suspected DUI

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — The Coventry Police Department announced the arrest of a former Pawtucket police officer who was also acquitted of shooting a teenager back in 2021.
According to authorities in Coventry, Daniel Dolan, 40, was arrested and charged with threats to a public official, DUI – BAC unknown and reckless driving.
Officials said Dolan was arrested after an officer conducted a traffic stop on him on Main Street in Coventry, Saturday night.
Back in 2021, Dolan, who was employed as an officer in the Pawtucket Police Department, fired a shot while off duty that injured an 18-year-old man.
He was found not guilty back in January and on Feb. 16, of this year, Mayor Grebien said he decided fire Dolan because the city will not “allow or enable behavior that jeopardizes our ability to protect the community we serve and protect.”
