Officers from the Providence Police Department attend funeral for fallen NYPD officer

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Officers from the Providence Police Department headed to New York on Wednesday to attend the funeral for one of the NYPD officers who was shot and killed.

The funeral for Officer Wilbert Mora was held on Wednesday morning. Officer Mora was 27-years-old.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Officer Mora as well as our brothers and sisters of the NYPD. Stay safe out there,” said the Providence Fraternal Order of Police.

Officer Mora died on January 25, four days after he and Officer Jason Rivera, 22, were fatally shot while responding to a domestic violence call in Harlem in January.
