Officers to receive re-training after review of Providence July 4 arrests

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said that officers that responded to a house party on July 4 would receive re-training and face disciplinary actions after an internal review of the incident.

Officers were called to a home on West Friendship Street for a “disturbance,” where four people were arrested.

The officers were said to have not followed “proper policies and procedures” during their response.

The department did not release the names of the officers, and the charges against the four suspects were dropped.
