NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WLNE) — Sen. Jack Reed and Rep. Seth Magaziner were among the officials who cut the ribbon at the new Maury Loontjens Memorial Library in Narragansett on Sunday.

The Library Board of Trustees said the new library at Pier Market Place took 14 years to complete.

“The road to a New Narragansett Library has been a long one, and at times very difficult,” the board said. “The opening ceremonies for this state-of-the-art library will showcase the new library, one that all residents of which will be proud.”

“This is a great moment for this community, and its the result of a community effort,” Reed said.
