Officials to deliver funding for upgrades at the Providence Public Library

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Senator Jack Reed and Congressman Seth Magaziner will be delivering federal funding for upgrades at the Providence Public Library.
Today, Reed and Magaziner wil join Executive Director Jack Martin to tour planned renovations and upgrades of the historic building, as well as the library’s courtyard to talk with librarians and staff.
The library was originally built back in 1900.
According to a release, the funding secured will help make improvements that will lead to more events and programs being held in the historic section of the library and will improve the experience for patrons who are checking out books, exploring the historic property, and looking for a place to do some work and relax.
The funding will also help create accessibility in the courtyard, creating a new outdoor space that would enable the library to host new community programs and event partners.
