Officials warn about flooding after heavy rain
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Multiple government officials are warning Rhode Islanders to be aware of flooding conditions after early morning rain.
Gov. Dan McKee said that his office, alongside the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency and Department of Transportation, are monitoring the storm’s impact across the state.
He added that the agencies expect water levels to rise throughout the day.
We’re continuing to monitor the impact of this storm across Rhode Island. I’ve been in touch with @RhodeIslandEMA and @RIDOTNews.
We expect water levels to continue to rise through the day — EMA is in touch with local communities that may require additional assistance.
