One dead following weekend assault in Newport
NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) – Newport police confirmed Tuesday night the victim of a felony assault that occurred early Sunday morning has died.
22-year-old Maximus H. Julian of Little Compton was assaulted during an altercation at a house party on Thames St.
Police say this was an isolated incident and the community is not in danger.
The Newport Police Department is still investigating the incident.
A family friend has started a GoFundMe for the family’s funeral expenses.
