One found dead inside Woonsocket home after fire, according to police

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — An individual was found deceased after a fire at a Woonsocket home on Sunset Avenue last night, according to officials.

Woonsocket Chief Thomas Oates confirmed the fatality with ABC6 news.

According to the Fire Marshal, the fire was determined to be accidental.

Officials said the fire was started after an individual fell asleep while smoking.

The deceased individual has not been identified.
