One hospitalized after rollover in North Smithfield

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — Officials said a person suffered serious injuries in a crash in North Smithfield on Tuesday night.

North Smithfield Fire Chief David Chartier said crews responded to a rollover on Douglas Pike in which the lone occupant sustained “pretty serious arm trauma.”

The victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital after a “technical and extensive” extrication from the car using jaws of life, per Chartier.

Officials have not offered any additional information regarding the crash.
