One hospitalized after tanker truck strikes car on Route 44 in Taunton
TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Police said a 36-year-old man was hospitalized after his car was hit by a tanker truck on Route 44 in Taunton on Tuesday night.
Officials said the car may have run a red light at the intersection of Highland and Winthrop Street, where it was struck by the tanker at 10:11 p.m.
An investigation revealed the truck was traveling on Winthrop Street when it hit the car, which entered the intersection from Highland.
The driver of the car was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with unknown injuries.
Route 44 reopened around 3 a.m. after being closed for several hours at the intersection, according to police.
The crash remains under investigation.
