One in 50 million! University of New England homes rare two-tone lobster

BIDDEFORD, MAINE (WLNE) – Fisherman brought a very rare two-tone lobster to the University of New England’s Marine Science Center last week.
The half orange, half brown lobster is considered to be a one-in-50 million catch.
By comparison, the blue lobster is a one-in-two million catch, and albino lobsters are one-in-100 million.
Over the winter, the science center became home to a one-in-30 million yellow lobster named ‘Banana’.
Center officials are considering naming the new two-tone lobster ‘Banana Split’.
