One injured after school bus rear-ends car in Cranston
CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — A person was injured after a school bus filled with children collided with a car in Cranston on Tuesday morning.
Cranston Police Major Todd Patalano said the bus had 29 children on board when it rear-ended the car on Phenix Avenue just after 7 a.m.
Patalano said an investigation determined that the car stopped to let someone enter the lot of the Speedway gas station, and a city school bus behind it could not stop in time.
The driver of the car was taken to the hospital for complaints of pain, per Patalano, and one student complained of pain but did not want to be taken to the hospital.
Police confirmed that the car was severely damaged, while the school bus suffered minor damage.
