UPDATE: Wrong way operator in Plainville deadly crash identified

PLAINVILLE, MASS. —  The victim who died after a deadly wrong-way crash in Plainville Thursday morning has been identified, according to police.

Authorities say the driver who caused the accident was as 22-year-old James Keating of Norton.

The driver of the struck car was a 21-year-old Barnstable woman who is in serious condition at Rhode Island Hospital. Police say they name of the Barnstable woman will not be released.

Police say that wrong way vehicle crashed into an oncoming car around 2 a.m. Thursday morning on the south bound side between Route 1 and Route 95.

The driver of the wrong way vehicle was killed at the scene and the driver of the second car was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital.

Officials say the crash remains under investigation.
