One man dead after boating accident in Fall River

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Major Crimes Division and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit are currently investigating a deadly boating accident that happened this morning on the Taunton River in Fall River.
According to police, at around 6:40 a.m., police received a report of two men in distress in the Taunton River.
Police said two brothers had gone fishing when their propeller got caught in a rope.
While attempting to free the propeller, the vessel began taking on water.
At some point, both men would end up in the water.
One of the men was able to take hold of a flotation device, while the other was unable to stay afloat.
First responders were able to remove him from the water and he was transported to Saint Anne’s Hospital.
He would unfortunately succumb to his injuries.
Both men were not identified.
