One taken to hospital after car crashes into tree in Rochester

ROCHESTER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Rochester Fire Department said one person was taken to the hospital after a car crash on Monday afternoon.

Around 1:15 p.m., crews were notified that a car crashed into a tree on Walnut Plain Road, and that the driver was trapped inside the vehicle.

Once crews arrived, they used electric power tools to free the patient in minutes, according to fire officials.

The driver was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Rochester Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
