NANTUCKET, Mass. (WLNE) — A group of orca whales were seen swimming in New England waters on Sunday.

The New England Aquarium posted a photo of four killer whales swimming 40 miles south of Nantucket in Massachusetts.

Staff at the aquarium said it’s rare to see orcas in the area.

“According to our scientists, it is unusual to see killer whales in New England waters, let alone four!” aquarium staff wrote in the post.

Aquarium staff said the orcas were among nearly 150 whales and dolphins seen on a seven hour flight.

People also spotted fin whales, minke whales, humpback whales, and bottlenose dolphins.
