Over 27K Rhode Islanders request mail-in ballots ahead of Tuesday’s deadline

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Over 27,000 Rhode Islanders have requested mail-in ballots ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.
Spokesperson for the Secretary of State’s Office, Jonathan Berard, said 27,498 mail-in ballot applications have been submitted as of Monday for November’s general election.
Ballot requests are due by 4 p.m. at voters’ local board of canvassers.
The election will be held on Nov. 8.
