PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Officials from the Unified Health Infrastructure Project (UHIP) revealed Thursday that a file containing embedded personal information was posted to the State’s Transparency Portal and General Assembly website earlier this month.
Deloitte Consulting, the state vendor, is working with UHIP to discover the cause of the mistake and determine how many customers were affected.
Around 5,600 customers are believed to be impacted.
They are offering one year of voluntary credit monitoring service at no cost as a precautionary measure.
They are unaware of any misuse of personal information, and encourage anyone with concerns to call the Department of Human Services at: (401) 415-8200.
