Alviti to answer oversight committee questions about Washington Bridge Monday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A joint oversight committee session over handling of the Washington Bridge will convene Monday.

RIDOT Director Peter Alviti will testify before the committee, along with Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee’s Senior Deputy Chief of Staff Joseph Almond.

The expected line of questioning from the committee will revolve around the original findings that closed the westbound side of the bridge in December.

The hearing is expected to begin at 3 p.m. Monday.
