P Bruins Fall to Falcons 5-2

Providence, R.I. – The
Providence Bruins fell to the Springfield Falcons 5-2 Sunday
afternoon at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.  Anthony
Camara and Justin Florek scored
the two P-Bruins goals, while Niklas
Svedberg made 30 saves.

Despite the P-Bruins getting off to a fast start in the opening period, the
Falcons scored first with a power play goal at the 15:54 mark.  After a battle for the puck in front of the
net, Blake Parlett passed the puck
to Sean Collins open in the slot. Collins found an opening to score his third
goal of the season.  Patrick McNeill picked up the second assist as Providence trailed
1-0 going into the first intermission.

The P-Bruins came out strong to start the second period.  At the 3:20 mark the line of Craig Cunningham, Carter Camper and
Camara made a strong rush up the ice.  Cunningham
made a slick pass to a moving Camper who found Camara on the glove side of Falcons
net minder Jeremy Smith.  Camara took the pass and slide the puck into
the net for his first goal of the season and first professional goal.  The Falcons bounced back to take the 2-1 lead
at the 10:34 mark when Darryl Boyce made
a pass to Austin Madaisky who was
waiting at center ice.  Madaisky took a
wrist shot which sailed into the net for his first goal of the season.  The Falcons made it 3-1 when Cody Goloubef scored his first goal of
the season on the power play at the 17:51 mark.  Johnathan
Marchessault and McNeill got the assists as the Falcons led 3-1 going into
the second intermission.

In the third period, both the Falcons and P-Bruins traded scoring chances
early, but Providence made it 3-2 at the 9:03 mark when Florek got the tip in
off Mike Moore's shot from center
ice.  Seth Griffith was credited with the second assist.  It was Florek's fourth goal of the season.  The Falcons made it 4-2 with an unassisted
goal at the 17:03 mark when Alex Aleardi
placed his stick on a loose puck which slid into the net for his second goal of
the season.  Springfield finished off the
scoring at the 19:43 mark with an empty-net goal from Jake Hansen, his fifth goal of the season, as The Falcons went onto
the 5-2 victory.

Svedberg stopped 30 of 34 shots for the P-Bruins, while Smith made 31 saves for
the Falcons.  Providence went 0-for-3 on
the power play and 6-for-8 on the penalty kill.
