PACE Head Start schools to hold meet and greet with therapy dog

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — PACE Head Start will hold a meet-and-greet Thursday with Sam the goldendoodle therapy dog.
Sam will greet students at 247 Smith Street in New Bedford, along with Head Start Director Jill Fox and Children’s Services Manager Kristine Silva.
Sam works at schools three days a week with the support of a United Way of New Bedford grant.
He greets families during arrival and departure and also joins the children in activities throughout the day.
Two additional therapy dogs are currently in training and will join the PACE Head Start team around January 2025.
