Parking at the Providence Place Mall free for first two hours starting August 1

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Free parking is coming to the Providence Place Mall starting August 1^st.

Shoppers will now get two free hours of parking at the mall’s garage.

Hours 2 – 5 will cost $2 and hours 5 – 8 will now cost $15 instead of $10.

Hours 8 – 20 will cost $20 and hours 20 – 24 will cost $25.

The mall made major improvements to the parking garage late last year.

Parking at the mall has been a subject of a lot of controversy since its opening.
