Part of Route 6 in Seekonk temporarily closed due to utility repairs

SEEKONK, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said that Route 6 at Mile Marker 1 in Seekonk has been temporarily closed for utility repairs.

MassDOT said both directions will be closed for the evening commute.

The following detours will be in place:

Vehicles traveling on Route 6 eastbound:

  • Turn right onto Warren Avenue.
  • Turn left onto Hollister Road.
  • Continue on Hollister Road to Route 6.

Vehicles traveling on Route 6 westbound:

  • Turn left onto Hollister Road.
  • Turn right onto Warren Avenue.
  • Continue on Warren Avenue to Route 6.

Drivers traveling through the affected area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
