Pascoag man admits to possessing and distributing Child Pornagraphy

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Jacob S. Munroe, 23, of Pascoag, R.I. pleaded guilty on Monday to one count of distribution of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography, according to a release from the Department of Justice and Acting United States Attorney Richard B. Myrus for the District of Rhode Island.
Homeland Security Investigation agents developed information from a R.I. IP address that was being used to distribute child pornography on networking and internet messages applications. Upon further investigation they found 19 videos were posted by the same user at the Pascoag residence, James Munroe.
The charges are from a search warrant that was executed on June 5, 2019, where Munroe was found to have images and videos on his cell phone.
In an unrelated investigation in November 4, 2020, while awaiting trail and released on bond, Munroe was arrested by Rhode Island State Police when they determined that he had downloaded images of child pornography on August 24, 2020.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on February 22, 2022.
