Patrice Bergeron signs 1-year deal to return to Bruins

BOSTON (WLNE) — Boston Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron inked a new deal Monday to return to the team next season.

The Bruins announced that Bergeron’s contract is worth a total of potentially $5 million, with half being guaranteed and the other half being performance based incentives.

The 37-year-old center will now return for his 19th NHL season, all with the Bruins, after speculation that he may retire this summer.

Last season, Bergeron played in 73 games, scoring 25 goals and tallying 40 assists for the B’s.
