FOXBORO – Local stores and hotels in Foxboro have been inundated with Patriots fans in the past few days, with the kick-off on Sunday.

At Patriot Place, some popular items are not staying very long on shelves at the ProShop. The “Do Your Job” hats had been out of stock for weeks, according to employees, until a shipment came Friday afternoon. “I was just shocked to see it here and it was the first thing I walked over to,” said Jessie Gauvin of Leominster, whose husband has been wanting the hat for a while.

And a hat made popular by Tom Brady has been in and out of stock for several weeks now. Out of stock again, workers don’t expect another shipment of these hats for another month.

Scott Julien of North Grafton isn’t surprised. “Tom’s a heartthrob and whatever he wears becomes popular,” he explained.

Meanwhile, hotels like the Renaissance Boston Patriot Place are booked solid. “The phones are just off the hook with people just trying to get in,” Amanda Giaramita, the front manager, told ABC6 News. “Two years ago when [the Patriots] were here, we didn’t book up that fast. We were shocked to see it that fast.”

Many fans are feeling confident, although some do not want to jinx anything. “I think in true Patriots fashion, it’s gonna come down to the fourth quarter and who has the ball last,” said Charlie Connery of Charlestown.
