Patriots Draft CB Cyrus Jones and OG Joe Thuney in 3rd Round, A QB and DT in the 4th

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) _ The New England Patriots have selected defensive back Cyrus Jones from Alabama with the 60th pick in the NFL draft.
Jones was New England’s first pick in this year’s draft. The Patriots had their first-round pick taken away as part of their punishment for the scandal that came to be known as “Deflategate.”
Jones is a 5-foot-10, 196-pound cornerback who also returned punts for the Crimson Tide.
The Patriots had been scheduled to pick 61st as well. They traded that pick to the New Orleans Saints in exchange for the 78th and 112th pick.

With the 78th pick, the Pats chose offensive guard Joe Thuney from North Carolina State.  The three year starter is 6-4, 304 pounds.

The Pats selected Thuney’s teammate, Jacoby Brissett with the 91st pick.  The NC State quarterback is said to be a good decision maker.

The Pats final pick of the night was for defensive tackle Vincent Valentine of Nebraska.  He was the 96th player chosen in the draft.  Valentine weighs in at 329 pounds.  The draft concludes on Saturday.
