PawSox Rained Out for Second Night in a Row, Doubleheader on Thursday

PawSox news release…
Wednesday’s scheduled International League game between the host Pawtucket Red Sox and the Indianapolis Indians at McCoy Stadium has been postponed due to rain, wet field conditions, and poor drainage at McCoy.
The PawSox and Indians will play a single-admission make-up doubleheader Thursday at 12:05 pm at McCoy (two 7-inning games). Tonight’s washout will have to be made-up as part of a doubleheader when the PawSox play at Indianapolis from July 28-30 (Thursday will be Indy’s final regular-season visit to Pawtucket).
Last night and tonight’s postponements mark the first time since 2007 that the PawSox have suffered back-to-back postponements at McCoy (April 17 & 18 of 2007 vs. Rochester). Pawtucket did have consecutive rainouts during the 2011 season as well but the first came at home on May 16 vs. Scranton/WB and the next came in Columbus on May 17.
Fans holding field box seats, reserved box seat tickets or general admission tickets for Wednesday (without a specific rainout date printed on them) can trade those in for any remaining regular-season game at McCoy based on availability.
The PawSox – who have not played a game since Saturday night (a 5-2 loss at Gwinnett) – were rained out on Sunday at Gwinnett, had a scheduled off-day on Monday, and have been rained out again each of the last two nights at home vs. Indianapolis.
The PawSox homestand now looks like this…
Thursday 12:05 pm Doubleheader vs. Indianapolis (two 7-inning games)
Friday 6:05 pm Single Game vs. Gwinnett
Saturday 4:05 pm Doubleheader vs. Gwinnett (two 7-inning games with fireworks to follow the 2nd game)
Sunday 1:35 pm Single Game vs. Gwinnett
The tentative pitching match-ups for Thursday’s doubleheader at McCoy:
