PawSox Rained Out, Free Kids Clinic on Saturday Before Doubleheader

PawSox news release…

PAWTUCKET, RI – A postponement of the opener of a six-game PawSox homestand tonight has inadvertently created a baseball springtime festival tomorrow featuring a single-admission double header that begins at 4:35 p.m. at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket.  Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez visits to observe Boston Red Sox Southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez, the starting pitcher in the first game.

At 2 p.m., all children are welcome at a free PawSox Baseball Clinic featuring players and coaches, followed by a brief autograph session until 3:15 p.m.  The PawSox will show the Boston Red Sox’ game on the videoboard.  Attendees will then depart the park and come back in with tickets when the gates open at 3:45 p.m.

The SuperSox Saturday also features Paws’ Birthday Bash, as the mascot welcomes not only his sidekick Sox, but a dozen mascot friends from the extended neighborhood.  The first 3,000 fans will receive art work of Paws on a framed canvas, presented by Cox Communications.

Fans with tickets to tonight’s game (Friday, May 13), may exchange their tickets for any future regular-season PawSox home game in 2016.  The PawSox’ box office opens tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.

Tickets for tomorrow’s double header (two for the price of one) are on sale at pawsox.com.

The PawSox’ rainout tonight, the fourth of the year, was due to a forecast of rain expected to continue throughout the night.  The four home postponements already this year are the most the PawSox have suffered in a season since 2006 (6 rainouts that year).

Weather forecasts call for sunny skies tomorrow and temperatures in the 70s, the first such forecast for a PawSox home game this year.
