PAWTUCKET, R.I. — The Pawsox released a new design concept on Tuesday that is not simply a ballpark, but an entire downtown area in Pawtucket.
The plans are to build a new downtown ballpark at Slater Mill going off the concept of a public “Park at the Park.”
Anyone would be able to use it year-round, and not just for Pawsox games.
In fact, there would be scholastic activities, community events, concerts, hockey, and access to things one would do in a park such as walking, reading, and picnicking.
This same concept of a “Year-Round Public Park” has been used at other minor league ballparks as well including the Fort Wayne TinCaps and the Columbia Fireflies.
