Pawtucket announces cooling center locations ahead of coming heat wave

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The City of Pawtucket has announced several cooling centers for residents ahead of the coming rise in temperatures later this week.

The following locations are included:

  • The Pawtucket Police Department lobby, 121 Roosevelt Avenue, 24 hours a day, seven days a week
  • The Pawtucket Public Library 13 Summer Street, Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
  • Leon Mathieu Senior Center, 420 Main St, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Blackstone Valley Visitor Center, 175 Main Street, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Open Doors Warming and Cooling Shelter, 1139 Main Street, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
