Pawtucket man indicted in connection with cold case murder from 2008

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Attorney General Peter Neronha said that a Pawtucket man was charged in the 2008 murder of 63-year-old Carl Seebeck.

James Grilli was charged with murder.

It was alleged that Grilli shot and killed Seebeck on Aug. 29, 2008 during an attempted robbery.

Neronha added that Grilli previously pled no contest in 2023 to the second-degree murder of 40-year-old Erika Belcourt in Woonsocket, and that he was serving a life sentence plus a consecutive 5-year sentence for murder and other charges.

He is expected to be arraigned on April 16.
