Pawtucket man indicted on fatal Cumberland stabbing charges

CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WLNE) — A man was indicted in connection with a fatal stabbing in Cumberland.
Attorney General Peter Neronha reported Tuesday that 34-year-old Robert Perry was indicted Friday after a stabbing that killed 38-year-old Otis Diggs on Sept. 23, 2023.
Police said Perry stabbed Diggs after an altercation broke out between them, and first responders found Diggs suffering from stab wounds upon arrival.
Diggs later died at Rhode Island Hospital from his injuries.
Perry was charged with one count of murder, and one count of possession of a knife longer than three inches while committing a crime of violence.
