Pawtucket Police: One man shot, another man stabbed overnight

Pawtucket Police are investigating after a man was shot, and another was stabbed overnight.

Thursday, at approximately 11 p.m. officers reported to the area of Payne Park on West Avenue and discovered a 23-year-old with non-life threatening injuries from a gunshot wound.

Police say witnesses observed two males arguing on Jefferson Street near West Avenue. One of the males allegedly fired multiple shots at the victim that was hitting him.

Additionally, at about 1 a.m. Friday, police reported to the Price Rite parking lot on Lonsdale Avenue for shots fired. Upon arrival they discovered a 33-year-old male with multiple stab wounds.

Police found evidence on the scene that confirmed shot were fired nearby.

Both victims were transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
