Pawtucket Police welcomes new K9 to department

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Pawtucket police welcomed a new K9 to the department.

2-year-old Kaya, a German Shorthaired Pointer, is the newest member of the Pawtucket Police Department’s K9 Unit.

According to the department, Kaya is certified in explosive and firearm detection.

“Her keen nose and sharp instincts make her a valuable addition to our K9 Unit, and we’re proud to have her on the team helping to keep our community safe,” the department said.
