Pawtucket woman charged with child abuse, assaulting police officers
PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Attorney General Peter Neronha shared that a Pawtucket woman has been charged with second-degree child abuse and assaulting police officers.
Yaritza Acevedo, 35, was charged with the following:
- second-degree child abuse
- two counts of simple assault
- resisting arrest
- disorderly conduct
On June 26, 2023, Pawtucket police responded to a report of child abuse.
When officers arrived on scene, they determined probable cause to arrest Acevedo.
Officers attempted to arrest Acevedo but she resisted and kicked the officers before they were able to place her in the cruiser.
Acevedo will appear in court in April.
