PC Friars Crack National Rankings in Both College Basketball Polls

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men’s basketball team is ranked No. 23 in the Associated Press Poll and No. 24 in the most recent USA Today Coaches Poll. Both polls which were released today (November 30). It marks the first time this season the Friars have been ranked.  Providence was ranked in both polls last season (March 2, 2015).  It is the first time the Friars have been ranked in consecutive seasons since 1977 and 1978.
The Friars have posted a 6-1 mark overall.  Last week, the team was 3-1, which included a 69-65 win over then No. 11/10 Arizona in the Wooden Legacy.  The Friars’ only loss last week was a 77-64 defeat against then No. 3/4 Michigan State in the Wooden Legacy Championship game.
Providence will return to action on Wednesday, December 2 versus Hartford at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center at 7 p.m. on FSN/OSN.
