PC Friars Move Up to 5 in Both College Hockey Polls

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Coming off a weekend road sweep at Maine, the Providence College men’s hockey team moved up one spot to No. 5 in the latest national polls released on Monday (Feb. 8).
The Friars have been ranked in 80 consecutive USCHO.com polls dating back to Feb. 25, 2013 and currently sit fifth in the current PairWise rankings.
Nick Saracino scored the overtime winner and Nick Ellis recorded his third shutout of the season in Providence’s 1-0 OT win over the Black Bears on Friday. Erik Foley, Kevin Rooney, Brian Pinho, and Trevor Mingoia each found the back of the net on Saturday for the Friars in a 4-2 win at Alfond Arena.
Up next, Providence will face off against Connecticut in a home-and-home set beginning Friday night at Schneider Arena.?
