PC Holds Annual Mal Brown Scrimmage At Alumni On Fan Fest Day

ANNUAL MAL BROWN SCRIMMAGE

 

PROVIDENCE, RI. – The Providence College men's basketball team held its annual Mal Brown intra-squad scrimmage today at PC's Alumni Hall.  The White Team, led by senior Marshon Brooks' game-high 19 points defeated the Black Team, 86-70.  In addition to Brooks, freshman Gerard Coleman had a productive game for the White Team, scoring 14 points after shooting 7-14 from the floor.  Sophomore Vincent Council added 12 points, nine assists and five rebounds  Freshman Dre Evans led the Black Team with 18 points and five assists. 

 

The White team held a 41-35 lead at half time as Brooks registered 12 points and Coleman added 10 in the first 20 minutes of action.  Freshman Mike Murray had a strong first half scoring 11 points for the Black Team.  Freshman Ron Giplaye chipped in with eight points and seven rebounds in 15 minutes action for the Black Team.

 

Earlier in the day, the athletic department held its annual Fanfest with interactive games for fans.  The men's and women's basketball teams also signed autographs.

 

The Friar men's basketball team will return action on Saturday, November 6 for an exhibition game versus Bentley College at the Dunkin' Donuts Center at 7:00 p.m.  Tickets can purchased by calling the PC ticket office at 401-865-GO PC.
