PC Men’s Basketball Announces 2016-2017 Nonconference Schedule

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Providence College Head Coach Ed Cooley announced the 2016-17 men’s basketball team’s non-conference schedule on Tuesday, May 31. The non-conference home schedule is highlighted by games versus Atlantic 10 foes Rhode Island (December 3) and Massachusetts (December 10).
The Friars will open their 2016-17 non-conference season at home versus Vermont (November 14). Providence will then play at Ohio State in the Gavitt Tipoff Games on November 17. The Friars will return home for two games versus Grambling (November 19) and St. Francis Brooklyn (November 21) which are part of the Emerald Coast Classic. Providence will then play its final two games of the Emerald Coast Classic in Destin, Fla. versus Memphis (November 25) and Iowa or Virginia (November 26).
Providence’s next home game will occur on November 30 when the Friars host New Hampshire. The game versus UNH will be the first of six consecutive home games for the Friars. After hosting Rhode Island on December 3, Providence will play Brown (December 6), Massachusetts (December 10), Wagner (December 17) and Maine (December 20) all at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. The Friars will close out their non-conference season with a road game at ACC rival Boston College on December 23.
Season tickets for all home games can be purchased Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Providence College Ticket Office in Schneider Arena, at Friars.com or by calling (401) 865-GOPC.
