PC Men’s Basketball Takes Care of Grambling State Saturday At The Dunk

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men’s basketball team (2-1) recorded its second win of the season in the first round of the Emerald Coast Classic. The Friars improved to 90-61 in in-season tournaments. Junior Rodney Bullock (Hampton, Va.) led the Friars with 18 points on the game and was 8-of-11 from the field and 2-of-2 from the free throw line. Junior Emmitt Holt (Webster, N.Y.) netted 17 points and was 5-of-9 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line.
Junior Jalen Lindsey (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) gave the Friars their first lead of the game in the 11th minute landing a shot from beyond the arc (13-12).
At the half, the Friars led 39-26. Bullock had 11 points to pace the Friars. Holt recorded 10 points. Grambling’s Ervin Mitchell and Remond Brown scored six points each. The Friars led for 8:44 with the greatest lead at 14 points with 19 seconds remaining in the period.
The Friars opened the second half on a nine-point run. Lindsey and Ryan Fazekas (Chesterton, Ind.) each netted points from beyond the arc.
Providence held the lead for the duration of the second half. The Friars largest lead in the half was 21 points, with 18:15 minutes remaining.

The Friars will host the second game of the Emerald Coast Classic on Monday, November 21 against St. Francis Brooklyn at 7:00 p.m.
