PD: Westerly town worker killed in work-related accident

WESTERLY, R.I. (WLNE) — A Westerly town worker was killed in a work-related accident on Wednesday.

Police said the accident, which involved a town tractor trailer truck, happened shortly before 2:30 p.m. at the Westerly Town Highway Garage at 35 Larry Hirsh Lane.

When police, EMS and firefighters responded to the scene they found the victim suffering from serious injuries.

He was transported to Westerly Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police continue to investigate.
