NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — A peacock proved too elusive for animal control officers in North Attleboro this week.

The North Attleboro Police Department said the town’s animal shelter received numerous calls reporting a peacock roaming local neighborhoods.

Officials said animal control officers responded to the reports, and in every instance, the peacock was no longer in the area upon their arrival.

Police said the animal shelter spoke to the peacock’s owner and asked them to contain the bird to their property.
