Pedestrian dies after early morning Hit and Run

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) – A male pedestrian has succumbed to his injuries after he was struck early Monday morning in New Bedford.

New Bedford Police are actively investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred around 5 a.m. Monday morning on Pleasant Street.

Police say the victim was a male, and that the incident is being treated as a “Hit and Run” at this time.

An accident reconstruction team was at the scene Monday morning. An investigation into the accident is underway.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
