Pedestrian struck in Coventry

A man is in serious condition at Rhode Island hospital tonight after being hit by a car while walking in Coventry.

According to police, the 41–year–old pedestrian was struck on New London Turnpike near the Wendy’s just before 8:30 tonight. He is expected to survive.

The driver of the vehicle, a 69–year–old woman, was released from the scene.

The accident is currently under investigation. No charges are expected to be filed
