Pedestrian struck by car in Coventry

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) – A pedestrian was struck by a car near the Washington Trust Bank on Tiogue Avenue in Coventry just before 6 a.m. Monday morning.
When police and emergency personnel arrived on scene, they were able to stabilize and transport the unidentified 38-year-old woman to Rhode Island Hospital. She suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to police.
The investigation is on-going and being handled by the Coventry Police Accident Reconstruction Team and Patrol personnel.
