Person dead after house fire in Taunton

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Taunton Fire Department said that a person died after a house fire on North Walker Street.

Firefighters responded to the area around 3:30 p.m. to find smoke coming from the building.

While fighting the fire, the department said it found the occupant in the home, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the fire is still under investitgation.
