Person dies after van hits 2 pedestrians in Fall River
FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A tragedy in Fall River after a crash leads to one person dying.
The Fall River Police Department said a pedestrian was struck and killed by a large moving van on Joseph Drive Wednesday afternoon.
Police arrived on the scene around 12 p.m. and determined that a van had struck two pedestrians.
One individual was transported to a local trauma center with significant, non-life-threatening injuries.
The second individual did not survive the collision and was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Neighbors who saw the crash said that it did not appear that the van was speeding, and added that it appeared that the vehicle was there to pick up a furniture donation.
The Fall River Police Department Major Crimes Division is conducting an investigation in collaboration with the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit.
