PLAINVILLE, Mass. (WLNE) — The Plainville Fire Department battled a fire on Wampum Street Thursday.

Chief Richard Vall said that firefighters responded around 2:30 p.m. when residents returning to the home saw smoke.

He said there was heavy fire in the garage that was extending to the house but was stopped before reaching it.

Vall added that a tanker shuttle needed to be used to get water access, and that the Wrentham, Norfolk, Foxborough, North Attleboro, and Attleboro Fire Departments provided mutual aid.

No one was injured in the fire as only a dog was in the home at the time, and it was pulled from the entrance.
