Plainville firefighters battle large brushfire that required multiple town for assistance

PLAINVILLE, Mass. (WLNE) — The Plainville Fire Department said it helped battle a large brush fire that took required mutual aid from several towns on Friday.

The fire started around 2:30 p.m. and engulfed six acres.

Firefighters battled the fire for five hours before it was brought under control.

Assistance was provided by departments from North Attleboro, Mansfield, Foxborough, Norfolk, Medway, Rehoboth, Wrentham, the Mass State Forestry, and the SEMRECC dispatch center.
